Tahquitz Canyon is on the Agua Caliente Band of the Cahuilla Indian reservation, and you can walk to breathtaking 50-foot waterfalls. Downtown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive has excellent outdoor shopping and dining available as well. If you’re into mid-century modern design or all things vintage, there are lovely stores for furniture, clothing, and artwork. Year-round on Thursday nights, there is an open-air street fair that has local artists, food, flowers, entertainers, produce, and more!

Palm Springs is no longer a sleepy resort town with all the music festivals and events happening all year long. The “Tennis Gardens” in Indian Wells is a short drive from Palm Springs, and it features the BNP Paribas Open. The BNP Paribas Open is an international tennis tournament that people come from around the world to see. The Desert Classic tournament takes place in La Quinta, and it is one of the stops on the PGA Tour. At the Desert Classic, you will see greats like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. Palm Springs has an international film festival in January, a film noir festival, and an American documentary film festival.
