Golf at The Hideaway Golf Club

The Hideaway has two private, par-72 courses with different playing styles. The Pete Dye Course opened in 2001 and was restored in 2024 under architect Tim Liddy, including work on the greens, bunkers, landscaping, and irrigation. The Clive Clark Course has broader landing areas, rolling fairways, water features, and mountain views.

Practice facilities include a double-ended driving range, an 11,000-square-foot putting green, a short-game area, practice bunker, instruction, club fitting, and TrackMan technology. Golf membership is capped at 225 members per course.

The Hideaway Golf Club Membership and HOA Dues

The Hideaway offers Golf Equity and Sports Equity memberships. The current schedule lists a $250,000 Golf Equity initiation fee with total annual dues of $50,040. Sports Equity membership is listed at $100,000 with total annual dues of $25,020.

The schedule describes the membership price as a 50% equity component and a 50% transfer-fee component. Membership remains subject to application, club approval, availability, current transfer terms, and the privileges attached to the selected category.

Membership treatment can also vary by property. Some home listings state that membership is required, while a current homesite offering states that membership is available but not required for that lot. Buyers should confirm the requirement for the exact property before writing an offer.

Current completed-home examples report HOA dues of $900 per month, while a recent homesite example reported $1,095 per month. These are not universal community figures. Confirm the master HOA, any additional association charges, transfer fees, capital contributions, assessments, and included services for the property.

Our guide to comparing La Quinta golf communities explains why membership and association expenses should be evaluated alongside the purchase price.

The Hideaway Golf Club Clubhouse and Amenities

The 80,000-square-foot clubhouse was part of a club renovation completed in January 2026. The work included updated dining and bar areas, locker rooms, the golf shop, fitness and wellness spaces, and member-service areas.

Amenities include the spa and salon, fitness center, resort pool, The Key poolside restaurant, tennis, pickleball, bocce, dining venues, a wine cellar, golf practice facilities, and on-course comfort stations. The club operates year-round and is non-tipping.

Homes, Villas, Bungalows, and Homesites

The Hideaway's villas are positioned along the Clive Clark Course and include established floor plans with differences in renovation level, pool configuration, fairway exposure, and mountain orientation. The bungalows form a smaller residential area near the clubhouse, making their exact floor plan, parking setup, association obligations, and renovation history important to compare.

Custom homes range from traditional Spanish and Mediterranean designs to contemporary desert architecture. Lot position can matter as much as square footage, especially when comparing golf frontage, tee or green exposure, cart paths, lake views, afternoon sun, mountain orientation, and distance from the clubhouse.

Custom homesites generally range from one-third acre to more than one-half acre. Buyers considering land should verify approved plans, design-review status, construction deadlines, utilities, contractor requirements, membership treatment, HOA charges, and nearby building activity.

Buying a Home in The Hideaway Golf Club

Tommy Jordan's comparison of The Hideaway and The Madison Club explains one of the main differences buyers should understand: The Hideaway has two courses, a member-owned club structure, and several distinct ways to own within the same community.

The individual property still matters as much as the community name. Compare membership treatment, total recurring costs, lot position, renovation condition, association structure, and recent comparable sales before choosing a home.
