Golf at Desert Horizons Country Club

The private course is an 18-hole, par-72 Ted Robinson, Sr. design. The routing is relatively compact and walkable, with broad fairways, strategic bunkering, water features, mature palms, and greens that place a premium on approach position and putting.

Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green, chipping green, bunker and short-pitch area, instruction, weekly organized play, leagues, and member tournaments. Golf access depends on the selected membership category rather than homeownership alone.

HOA Dues, Social Membership, and Golf Membership

Resident Social Membership is required with every home purchase. The current initiation fee is $25,000, due within 60 days of closing. Current MLS listings report HOA dues of $2,148 per month.

Resident Full Golf Membership has a $45,000 initiation fee and total monthly dues of $3,859. That total already includes the $2,148 in monthly HOA dues, plus Golf dues and the Golf reserve contribution. Resident Associate Golf is available to applicants age 50 and under at a $30,000 initiation fee and $3,041 in total monthly dues.

Nonresidents may also apply for membership. The latest published schedule lists Nonresident Full Golf at a $60,000 initiation fee and $2,361 per month, Nonresident Associate Golf at $30,000 and $1,543 per month, and Nonresident Social at $12,500 and $650 per month. The club also advertises a limited Invitational Golf option. Membership remains subject to current availability, application, approval, and the privileges attached to the selected category.

Homes and Property Types

Desert Horizons was developed in eight phases over roughly 18 years, so the housing is not one uniform product. Buyers can compare paired residences, freestanding single-family homes, and a small custom-estate segment, with meaningful differences in floor plan, legal ownership, maintenance package, renovation history, outdoor space, garage configuration, and course position.

Paired Residences

Paired homes make up a large part of the community and can provide a more association-managed ownership experience. A paired exterior does not by itself explain the legal ownership form or maintenance coverage. Review the title, association documents, insurance, roof and exterior responsibilities, landscaping, private versus common outdoor areas, and any pool obligations for the exact property.

Single-Family Homes

Freestanding homes vary by phase and original plan. Many have private courtyards, patios, pools or spas, golf-cart storage, and fairway or lake exposure. Renovations can materially change the interior layout and condition, so an original home and a recently updated home should not be compared on square footage alone.

Custom Estates

The custom homes form a small segment of the community and should be evaluated separately from the paired and production-home inventory. Parcel size, architecture, guest accommodations, garage capacity, private outdoor space, course frontage, mountain orientation, and owner maintenance obligations can create a different cost and value profile.

Current Desert Horizons Country Club Homes for Sale

Eighteen residences were actively listed on July 29, 2026, with asking prices from $635,000 to $2.795 million. The active inventory ranged from 2,345 to 5,100 square feet and included paired homes, freestanding residences, and one custom estate.

The custom estate expands the top of the current price range and is not a direct comparable for the more common paired or single-family plans. Compare recent sales within the same property type, phase, maintenance structure, renovation level, and course position.

Buying a Home in Desert Horizons Country Club

The first costs to understand are the required Resident Social Membership and the $2,148 in monthly HOA dues. From there, compare the property type and maintenance structure, then decide whether Full or Associate Golf Membership fits how the home will be used.

A paired residence, freestanding home, and custom estate can carry different owner responsibilities and attract different resale buyers even when they share the same club amenities. The best comparable set matches the phase, ownership form, renovation level, course position, and monthly cost structure.
